Monique Brizz-Walker is the visionary founder of Event Strategies For Success, a distinguished boutique special events fundraising firm dedicated to supporting leaders on both a national and global scale. With nearly three decades of experience, Monique has played a pivotal role in transforming and elevating some of New York City’s most prominent organizations, raising an impressive aggregate of over $25 million in funding.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Throughout her career, Monique has advanced the work of several venerable nonprofits, including: the American Folk Art Museum (AFAM), American Foundation for The University of the West Indies (AFUWI), Bedford-Stuyvesant Gateway Business Improvement District (Bed-Stuy BID), Brooklyn Metropolis Lions Club (BMLC), Brooklyn Museum of Art (BMA), Central Park Conservancy (CPC), Go On Girl Book Club (GOG), the NAACP Legal Defense Fund (LDF), and START Treatment Center.

Her expertise lies in producing compelling events that attract prospects and engage donors, cultivating strategic alliances with corporations and stakeholders, and positioning each organization as a prominent figure in the philanthropic community.

Currently, Monique provides invaluable consultation to non-profit leaders, Presidents, CEOs, Executive Directors, and Board Members, empowering them to:

PROFESSIONAL COMMUNITY IMPACT
Monique has been instrumental in driving significant community development initiatives, notably through her work with the Bed-Stuy Gateway Business Improvement District. Here, she successfully secured and co-managed two crucial grants from the Communities of Color Nonprofit Stabilization Fund (CCNSF), focusing on addressing the challenges faced by minority-owned businesses in the face of gentrification and the COVID-19 pandemic. This role underscored her ability to lead impactful projects that support the stability and growth of local enterprises, fostering sustainable community development.

COMMUNITY SERVICE AND LEADERSHIP
Monique’s commitment to giving back resonates deeply within her, as evidenced by her dedicated advocacy and support for numerous community organizations. She serves as Vice Chair of the Community Leadership Council Board of Kingsbrook Medical Center, a pivotal figure in the formation of One Brooklyn Health, a groundbreaking healthcare system addressing critical healthcare and social determinants of health. Monique also actively supports the Crown Heights Service Center, a venerable out-of-school provider with over four decades of service, and the Brooklyn Metropolis Lions Club, operating under the auspices of Lions Clubs International. Additionally, she is a member of the NAACP Brooklyn, New York Chapter and was recently welcomed as one of the newest members of the Brooklyn Community Foundation’s Brooklyn Elders Fund in April 2023.

Monique’s remarkable journey is further enriched by her enduring marriage of 36 years to Stan E. Walker. Stan is a distinguished principal, career educator, and mentor, who has dedicated 35 years of service to the New York Department of Education. Together, they call Brooklyn, New York, their home.
